Celebrating the successful delivery of Workday Adaptive training

Wednesday, July 05, 2023

Last week, the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and the Workday Adaptive Project team marked a significant milestone by successfully delivering the final Workday Adaptive training course with an in-person session.

The comprehensive training, which began on June 8, was designed to support the community in the university’s transition from Hyperion to Workday’s Adaptive Planning for financial budgeting & forecasting.

Led by Helen Wong, Senior Financial Analyst, Ryan Matsumura, Senior Budget Analyst, Dominika Wesolowski, Finance Manager from UBCO Financial Operations, and Adam DeMello, Associate Director, Management Reporting, the training program covered three key topics: Revenue & Expense Planning + Transfers, Workforce Planning, and Reporting and Office Connect. To ensure accessibility for all participants, each course was delivered both in-person and via Zoom, with approximately 200 participates joining each online session.

As the in-person training series drew to a close, the FP&A team decided to turn it into a graduation celebration by presenting participants with a virtual certificate acknowledging their hard work and successful completion of the training, sparkling juice — and of course, no celebration would be complete without a graduation cake!

Workday Adaptive is going live on July 12

The community will first use Workday Adaptive to complete their Q1 Operating forecasts. To ensure a seamless transition for the UBC community, the FP&A team will be hosting weekly drop-in Zoom Q&A sessions.
