Don’t forget to include the seal number on your green deposit bag

Thursday, April 18, 2024

As part of the HSBC Canada transition to Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), grey coloured tamper-proof deposit bags have been changed to green bags as of March 28, 2024. Now only green coloured tamper-proof deposit bags are accepted for physical deposit and UBC staff are required to have the seal number written on the deposit slip, and funds and deposit slip must be sealed within the new green bags.

Deposit bag instructions:

  1. Protect your privacy and confidentiality, do not write the Company Name and Account # on the bag.
  2. Indicate bag number on the deposit slip.
  3. Place deposit with original and bank copy of deposit slip into the bag.
  4. Seal bag following instructions found below (in the image).
  5. Attach numbered release liner to customer copy of deposit slip as your receipt.

Closing instructions:

  1. Load content into bag.
  2. Place bag on a flat surface. Lift flap and fold it away from bag opening. Remove release liner to expose adhesive.
  3. Press flap down and smooth closed. Bag is now sealed.

Physical deposit process and bags:

New green bags can be picked up at the UBC Bookstore on both UBC Vancouver (UBCV) and UBC Okanagan (UBCO) campuses. More information regarding the physical deposit process can be found on the Banking page under Preparing the Deposit Bag for physical deposit.
