Chris Bastien joins as the Finance Services Manager

We are pleased to welcome Chris Bastien to UBC’s Financial Operations group as the Finance Services Manager effective December 6, 2021.

Chris will play a vital role in leading the Finance Services Team to support our Community in Finance Period End activities, and the improvement of Workday’s processes. Chris comes to us with 20 years of experience in Finance and Accounting, and 10 years of experience at UBC. He is joining us from UBC Computer Science where he held roles as the Director of Research and Industry Partnerships and the Acting Director of Finance and Administration, leading a team to assess and implement changes to support the research function as well as lead budgeting, financial and operational management for the department.

Chris is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) with leadership experience in the public sector.
