Reports and Disclosures

Last updated: June 20, 2024

UBC is committed to being transparent in our reporting.

The university produces a variety of regular financial reports and public disclosures to share information about our finances and update the public on our financial operations.

Annual Budget Report

The UBC Budget represents the financial plan for the university—it serves as a roadmap for allocating the university’s revenues against anticipated expenses. The annual budget report is submitted to the university's Board of Governors in March each year.

Consolidated Annual Financial Statements

Our consolidated financial statements reflect the assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses of UBC, covering the fiscal year from April 1 to March 31. They are prepared according to accounting standards, audited by our external auditors and reported to the Province.

Statement of Financial Information (SOFI)

The BC Financial Information Act requires that public institutions publish certain supplementary information. This information is not audited by the external auditors. It includes payments to suppliers in excess of $25,000; employee salaries above $75,000; remuneration for our Board of Governors, and details of outstanding debt. This information is published annually, following the March 31 year end.

Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Report

UBC recognizes the importance and urgency of eradicating forced labour and child labour from global supply chains, in alignment with human rights and fundamental freedoms. As an institution deeply rooted in shaping a better world since 1915, UBC supports the goals of The Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, that came into effect on January 1, 2024, to implement Canada’s international commitment to combat forced labour and child labour.

This report outlines the initiatives undertaken during the previous fiscal year, to identify and assess risks associated with forced labour and child labour within our own supply chains, as well as forthcoming actions.

As per the Act, this report will be updated as of May 31 each year.

Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures Report

In 2018, the Canadian government formally endorsed the adoption of Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations by all Canadian organizations to support Canada's commitment to the Paris Agreement.

UBC's FY2023 TCFD report is available on the UBC Sustainability website.
