Welcome Tilan Kiriwaththuduwa, Finance Director, Capital Financial Management and Reporting (CFMR)
We are happy to welcome Tilan Kiriwaththuduwa as Finance Director, Capital Finance Management and Reporting (CFMR), who will be joining the Office of the Comptroller on May 27.
Tilan brings a wealth of experience as a highly effective finance professional, with over 13 years of progressive expertise in financial management, budgeting, analysis, and reporting. Notably, he has a proven track record of developing and executing major long-term capital plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior government funding partners.
During his tenure as Senior Manager of Capital Assets and Government Funding at TransLink, Tilan adeptly managed a diverse portfolio of over 150 projects valued at a cumulative total exceeding $6 billion. His accomplishments include spearheading successful collaborations with multiple operating divisions and senior government partners to formulate a $6 billion capital program, including the government funding strategy, which received approval from the Metro Vancouver Mayors’ Council as part of the 2022 TransLink Investment Plan. Prior to this role, Tilan served as Controller at Black Mount Logging and Black Tusk Helicopter.
Tilan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Simon Fraser University, as well as a CPA/CA designation.
With Tilan's arrival, we extend our gratitude to Cheryl Berge for her invaluable support to the Capital Financial Management and Reporting (CFMR) team. Tilan will be entrusted with the management of the Capital Finance Reporting and Project Accounting team, led by Lindsay Wyant and Steven Wong. We look forward to his contributions to the Comptroller team.
