Steven Bao Joins UBC as Finance Director, Special Projects

We are pleased to welcome Steven Bao to the university as Finance Director, Special Projects.

Starting January 11, Steven will be working with the Karamjeet Heer in the Comptroller’s portfolio, with a focus on financial reporting matters. He comes to UBC from BCIT, where he was the Assistant Director of Financial Services for seven and a half years. Steven’s valuable experience from that role, including responsibility for financial accounting, reporting, capital accounting and planning, business process reviews, policies and procedures, and other finance special projects, will be assets for the Comptroller’s group and for the university.

An alumni of UBC, Steven is a graduate of the Sauder School of Business (BComm), as well as a Chartered Professional Accountant. In his spare time, he enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including snowboarding, hiking, and cycling. He is also a big movie fan, and enjoys watching films on both the big and small screen.
