Register for WACUBO 2019, co-hosted by UBC

Monday, March 11, 2019

Registration is now open for the 2019 WACUBO Annual Conference (Western Association of College and University Business Officers), and UBC’s Vice-President of Finance and Operations Peter Smailes would like to encourage members of the university community who are responsible for business operations within their units to take advantage of this excellent opportunity.

Since 1937, WACUBO has offered business officers from Canada, the United States, and Mexico opportunities for professional development and a forum for identifying solutions to issues affecting higher education. The 2019 international conference will be held from May 5 to 9 at the Hotel Vancouver, and UBC is proud to be co-hosting the event along with Simon Fraser University. Attendees will connect with colleagues from universities and colleges across the region, and learn about trends, best practices, solutions, and developments related to finance, human relations, organizational development, change management, and other fields connected to administration in higher education. This year’s theme is Beyond Boundaries, and focuses on innovative programming to expand individual and institutional capacity to successfully meet the diverse challenges facing higher education today.

If you’re interested in attending, you’ll need to become a WACUBO member in the UBC Vancouver group (membership for individuals is included in UBC’s Vancouver campus membership. UBC Okanagan will need their own membership, as campus memberships are required). Contact Holly Rail at holly.rail@ubc.ca to have your name added to the list before registering for the conference.
