UBC Budget and Financial Reporting

The University of British Columbia is a global centre for research and teaching, consistently ranked among the 40 best universities of the world. A publicly supported comprehensive university, we offer over 50,000 students an unrivalled choice of degree programs, learning and research opportunities.

In recent years, UBC has been responding to new trends in the post-secondary sector in order to continue providing top-tier education. This has included finding cost savings and reducing overall reliance on government operating funds. With an annual budget of more than $2 billion, which includes provincial and federal government grants, tuition, investment income, research contracts and other sources, we are committed to helping the UBC community and the public in understanding our financial situation. Our first step in providing a more robust explanation of our financial situation is to explain UBC’s revenue and expenses. Over the coming months, we will continue to update this website with more information.

In addition, we are also providing an opportunity for our community to become more involved in our budget process and inviting feedback. Tell us what you think and have your say.
