Sarah Lee joins UBC as Finance Director, Capital Financial Management and Reporting (CFMR)

We are pleased to welcome Sarah Lee as UBC’s new Finance Director, Capital Financial Management and Reporting (CFMR) effective November 15. 

Reporting directly to Matt Boydston, Assistant Comptroller, Sarah will support the project accounting, reporting, and auditing of capital projects in the newly created CFMR team. 

In her role, Sarah will provide strategic financial leadership, vision, and direction for the capital financial management cycle and reporting. Supporting the management teams in Facilities, Sarah will share capital expertise in relation to financial analysis and business strategy to enhance management reporting and decision making.  Sarah will also provide leadership to the two main streams under the CFMR team: Project Accounting and Capital Financial Reporting.

Sarah comes most recently to UBC from Metro Vancouver where she was the Treasury Manager for seven years leading the Treasury Department with a key focus on financing and investment strategy. Sarah also brings significant capital related experience through her role with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.  Her valuable experience, as well as her strong leadership and relationship-building skills, will be assets for the Comptroller’s group and for the university.

Sarah is a graduate of Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, as well as a Chartered Professional Accountant.
