Ken Sham joins UBC's Financial Operations as the Manager, Contract and Supplier Management

We are pleased to welcome Ken Sham to UBC’s Financial Operations group as the Manager, Contract and Supplier Management, effective June 20, 2022.

Reporting to Philippa Horton, Associate Director, Procurement Partnerships, Ken will be responsible for developing UBC’s contract management processes, practices and technologies to manage the university’s contracts and partnerships with our largest and most strategic suppliers. 

Ken brings over 9 years of contract management and supplier relationship management experience, where he has worked with a range of different contract management systems and technologies. Ken brings a wealth of management experience from various supply chain roles in the public sector, including his time as the Senior Manager, Contracts Formulation with the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority in Hong Kong. Ken joins UBC from Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) where he has been leading a team of Contract Advisors in his capacity as Regional Contracts Manager. During his time with VCH, Ken worked to optimize contractual processes within the health authority, enhance stakeholder engagement, and streamline processes to facilitate COVID-19 related purchases.

Ken holds a Bachelor of Laws from the City University of Hong Kong and a PDD in International Business Management from Douglas College.
