Dawn Irmscher joins UBC as Director of Payroll

We are very pleased to welcome Dawn Irmscher to the Finance & Operational Excellence team as UBC’s new Director of Payroll, reporting to AVP Elana Mignosa effective May 3.

Dawn brings a wealth of experience in finance, operations, technical, and systems implementation to the university, and most recently served as the Director of Finance for the Sooke School District in Victoria, BC. During her professional career Dawn has also developed a solid track record as a speaker and educator, notably through her roles with the University of Toronto as an Accounting Instructor, and with the Canadian Payroll Association as a Professional Development Seminar Facilitator and Certification Instructor.

In addition to holding the Canadian Payroll Association’s Certified Payroll Manager certification (CPM), Dawn holds the Chartered Professional in Human Resources Designation (CPHR), and the Chartered Professional Accounting: Certified Management Accounting Designation (CPA, CMA).   

Outside of work, Dawn is an avid runner and has participated in several triathlons.
