Curt Steckhan joins UBC Finance as Procurement Services Manager

Supply Management & Financial Operations is pleased to announce that Curt Steckhan will be joining the team as its new Procurement Services Manager. Curt is a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) with an MBA from UBC, who has many years of experience in public procurement and management, having worked with the RCMP as their Regional Manager of Procurement for BC and Yukon.

As Procurement Services Manager Curt will bring a focus to building the team, improving service, and delivering value by providing additional assistance with buying and sourcing decisions and harmonizing processes to improve sourcing turnaround times. His team will support faculties and administrative units with requisitions, purchases under $75k, and competitive bidding for purchases above $75k (e.g. RFPs). Faculty and staff are encouraged to reach out to Curt for advice regarding their procurement needs.  

Curt’s appointment follows a realignment of Supply Management & Financial Operations aimed at improving customer service, and making it easier and simpler for faculty and staff to buy and pay for goods and services. For more information about these changes read our previous announcement.
