Commercial trade advisory due to weather conditions

Monday, August 28, 2017

Due to the severe weather in Texas, U.S.A., the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency has advised that commercial trade operations will be suspended at a number of ports and airports today (Monday, August 28, 2017).

The following ports have suspended operations:

  • Port Arthur (2101)
  • Houston seaport (5301)
  • Houston airport (5309)
  • Galveston (5310)
  • Freeport (5311)
  • Corpus Christi (5312)

CBP has also granted a local closure day to all who file entries at the above ports, and is extending entry summaries and payments of duties that are due on August 28, 2017, by one day.

As Hurricane Harvey continues to impact southeastern Texas, Livingston’s Houston team has put a number of contingencies in place to minimize service disruptions. Contingencies include working from home, moving teams to neighboring offices, and completing entries in other Livingston locations.

We have implemented a thoughtful plan and are making our best efforts to maintain our service levels.  We will keep you updated as the situation changes.
